It was 1992 when it happened. September 1, 1992 is a date nobody will ever forget. On September 1, 1992, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was destroyed. Nobody knows the full story. Nobody knows what happened within the walls of the magnificent school. Everybody, however, knows who did it. Tom Marvolo Riddle, also known as Lord Voldemort, the most feared wizard since Grindelwald, sent his Death Eaters to destroy Hogwarts, thus killing the one wizard Voldemort himself feared. Albus Dumbledore. An inspection of the destruction site showed that there were no survivors.

In the early days of October, 1992, it became apparent that there were some survivors of the tragic event. Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle and many other Slytherin students had been spotted in Diagon Alley, apparently alive and well. None of the group wished to recount what had happened that fateful night. Their unwillingness to cooperate and overall survival of the night caused suspicion to arise. Investigations took place, but there was no evidence to suggest that the Slytherin group had anything to do with the school’s destruction.

On November 14, 1992, Janette Amorcya, a world famous actress, known both to muggles and wizards, and her husband David Amorcya, a world famous researcher/author bought an island just off the coast of Western Australia. The Amorcya family (the richest, most famous wizarding family in the world), named the island after their family. From November 15 to December 28, plans to build a new wizarding school were made. The Amorcya family hired the best construction teams they could find, and on January 4, 1993, construction of the new wizarding school began. The school was named Oasis Hill Academy. The plan was for it to take the place of Hogwarts as the greatest wizarding school in the world. The school was to be kept secret and out of the knowledge of Voldemort.

On January 27, 1994, the doors of Oasis Hill Academy were opened for the first time. The first lot of first years entered the school. The year was a success. However, during the last few weeks of December, something happened. People started to visit Amorcya Island. They started to comment on the beauty of the island, and how much they’d love to live there. On December 25, 1994, the Amorcya family funded the construction of Woodberg County.

In the early weeks of January 1995, wizards and muggles alike started to move to Amorcya Island. However, in the early weeks of February 1995, things started to take a turn for the worst. The Headmaster of Oasis Hill Academy received an urgent warning from the Minister of Magic. Voldemort had caught wind of the school. He’d sent several Death Eaters on a mission to find it. With the help of the Minister of Magic, the Headmaster put up every charm, every ward possible to keep the school a secret. The students and professors alike were told to keep the school out of their minds as much as possible whilst not on the island. The residents of Woodberg County were informed that a terrorist was attempting to locate the island, and were prohibited from leaving. Voldemort could find his way into the mind of anyone on the island, and find the location.

The island itself as put under a shielding charm. It was taken off the map, and students could only attend the school via invitation. Apparition onto the island was cut off, though apparition within the island was allowed. The only means of transport to and from the island were boats driven by wizards who had been entrusted with the location of the island. Even the boats had been placed under shielding charms.

Now

It is now 2013. Gabrielle and Michelle Amorcya, the daughters of Janette and David Amorcya are in their seventh and final year at the school. The eldest children of the Headmaster have graduated. The Minister of Magic still sends his children to the school. The school has remained safe for 19 years. However, Voldemort is still at large. He is still searching for the school and will not stop until he finds it. The students, teachers and residents of Amorcya Island live in fear as they await the inevitable day that Voldemort finds their beloved school.
